Save the Children works in more than 120 countries around the world. We are an international non-governmental humanitarian organization consisting of Save the Children International and 30 national members.<\/p>\n
We share one name, one strategy, and one ambition to ensure that all children survive, learn, and are protected.
\nThe organization was founded in 1919 in the United Kingdom in response to the tragedy of the First World War to improve the lives of children through better education, health and economic opportunities, as well as emergency relief in the event of natural disasters, war and other conflicts.<\/p>\n
Our vision<\/strong> is a world where every child is protected, has the opportunity to develop and be involved in decision-making.<\/p>\n Our mission:<\/strong> To inspire change in the way the world treats children and achieve rapid and sustainable change in their lives.<\/p>\n Save the Children’s global ambitions for 2030: <\/strong>no child dies from preventable causes before their fifth birthday, all children have access to quality basic education, and violence against children is no longer tolerated.<\/p>\n Since February 24, 2022, Save the Children in Ukraine has supported 802,546 people with humanitarian aid and basic services, including 436,529 children. In 2022, we built on our existing programs and worked in 7 areas, 24 regions, and with 33 partners.<\/p>\n\n
\nvoucher assistance to more than 28,700 families. In 2022, our cash
\nassistance in Ukraine amounted to almost $26 million. Through our
\nfeedback mechanisms, families report that money is something that they
\nis the most needed now. This helps them buy products first
\nnecessities, such as food, medicine, and fuel.<\/li>\n
\nchild-friendly centers across Ukraine, where girls and boys can
\nto communicate, play and be children again. Specialists are ready to provide psychological
\nsupport and help children with their experiences. We also provide
\nkits that contain everything you need to create a child-friendly space, such as
\nand bunker kits for children near the front line. They include toys,
\ngames and exercises for children’s mental health while they are hiding in
\nbasements and shelters.<\/li>\n
\ncould continue their education and have access to online classes, and we
\nWe plan to open 100 across Ukraine. We also repair damaged
\nschools and kindergartens, and provide training and equipment for
\nteachers.<\/li>\n
\nincluding 24,518 children, to access the necessary medical care.
\nWe provided medical equipment, supplies and technical assistance to hospitals and
\nmobile healthcare teams.<\/li>\n
\nhumanitarian organizations, the UN and local authorities to provide
\nequipment for repairing damaged water supply systems. Together with
\nWe have distributed 40,000 hygiene kits with our partners and care about
\nto ensure that families have access to clean drinking water. We supply coolers
\nand water to collective centers in Dnipro, Poltava and Zaporizhzhia, and
\nWe also delivered more than 12,600 bottles of water to Kherson.<\/li>\n
\nbasic necessities, including beds and mattresses, to children and families in
\ncollective centers. We also help to restore damaged
\nschools and hospitals, and provide solid fuel boilers for critical
