{"id":1023,"date":"2014-11-28T10:01:22","date_gmt":"2014-11-28T08:01:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/childrights.org.ua\/news\/violence-is-a-trash-that-should-be-taken-out-of-home\/"},"modified":"2014-11-28T10:01:22","modified_gmt":"2014-11-28T08:01:22","slug":"violence-is-a-trash-that-should-be-taken-out-of-home","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/childrights.org.ua\/en\/news\/violence-is-a-trash-that-should-be-taken-out-of-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Violence is a Trash that Should Be Taken out of Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1074 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/childrights.org.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/5515758ac6a46-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>Secretariat of the Ukrainian Child Rights Network have supported an international campaign <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/16days.ua\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence&#8221;<\/a>, realized in Ukraine by our partners <a href=\"http:\/\/www.healthright.org.ua\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Ukrainian Foundation for Public Health<\/a>. The campaign was held under the motto &#8220;Violence is a Trash that Should Be Taken out of Home&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>International campaign &#8220;16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence&#8221; was initiated in 1991 by the Women&#8217;s Global Leadership Institute. The campaign begins on November 25 &#8211; International Day Against Violence Against Women &#8211; and ends with International Human Rights Day on December 10.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign aims to end violence against women through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>raising awareness about gender-based violence as a human rights issue at the local, national, regional and international levels;<\/li>\n<li>strengthening local work around violence against women;<\/li>\n<li>establishing a clear link between local and international work to end violence against women;<\/li>\n<li>providing a forum in which organizers can develop and share new and effective strategies;<\/li>\n<li>demonstrating the solidarity of women around the world organizing against violence against women;<\/li>\n<li>creating tools to pressure governments to implement promises made to eliminate violence against women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This 16-day period also highlights other significant dates including December 1, World AIDS Day, December 2 International Day Against Slavery, December 3 International Day of Disabled Persons, 5 December International Volunteer Day, and December 6, which marks the Anniversary of the Montreal Massacre.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, almost every day from November 25th till December 10th is marked with facts and arguments that any form of violence (in public or private areas) is a violation of human
