Unfortunately, the topic of violence against children in institutional institutions has been and remains extremely relevant in our country. We acquaint in detail with problems here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On September 12, 2019 “Ukrainian Child Rights Network” plans to hold a thematic block of 2 online webinars on violence in the system of alternative care and upbringing of children for representatives of children’s services, child care institutions, shelters, small group homes, centers for social support of families and children, foster parents,\u00a0 guardians, trustees, adoptive parents, representatives of non-governmental organizations working in the field of protection of child rights, psychologists, teachers and others.<\/p>\n

Natalia Pashko, a child psychologist, psychotherapist, trauma teacher, and violence specialist, was invited as an expert to conduct the webinars.<\/p>\n

Webinars are held within the project “Strengthening the capacity of NGOs to monitor the rights of the child in Ukraine – Phase II”, implemented by the NGO “Ukrainian Child Rights Network” with the support of the UN Children’s Fund “UNICEF” Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The first block of the webinar on the topic: “Detection and response to cases of violence” will be broadcast from 11.30 to 13.00. You can register for participation here<\/a> (registration is required).<\/p>\n

Issues to be addressed:<\/em><\/p>\n

1. Phenomenology of violence.<\/em><\/p>\n

2. Age norms of development: norm, need of age, age crisis, indicator of violence. How to distinguish, is it an age norm, a crisis or a manifestation of violence?<\/em><\/p>\n

3. The impact of violence on child development. Neurobiology of trauma. How are patterns of complex, deviant behavior formed?<\/em><\/p>\n

The second block of the webinar on “Interaction and assistance to a child who has suffered violence in the system of alternative care” will be broadcast from 13.30 to 15.30. You can register for participation here<\/a> (registration is required)<\/p>\n

Issues to be addressed:<\/em><\/p>\n

1. Principles of interaction with a child who has been abused. Adaptation in the system of alternative care for a child who has experienced violence, including sexual violence.<\/em><\/p>\n

2. Review of methods of diagnosis and care of a child who has suffered from violence.<\/em><\/p>\n

3. Formation of safe behavior in children who have had a traumatic experience.<\/em><\/p>\n

Webinars are free.
