We showed this path through an infographic – the pyramid of needs of a child returned from deportation or occupation. It is based on the logic of Abraham Maslow’s pyramid of needs, but instead of abstract concepts, it shows the real needs of children and families. <\/p>\n\n

This infographic is about the way needs are transformed. From fear and instability to a sense of home and confidence in the future. <\/p>\n\n

This path is currently being followed by 298 children under the project “Strengthening Comprehensive Reintegration Support for Returning Children”. The support is being implemented as part of the reintegration component of the President of Ukraine’s Bring Kids Back UA initiative in cooperation with Ukrainian NGOs and international partners. <\/p>\n\n

At all levels of support, an interdepartmental team works with families: case managers, psychologists, social educators, lawyers and social service specialists. It is this comprehensive work that helps children gradually rebuild their lives and move towards a safe future. <\/p>\n\n

Reintegration is about time, consistency and care. And every level of this pyramid matters. <\/p>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

The project “Strengthening Comprehensive Reintegration Support for Returning Children” is being implemented as part of the reintegration component of the Presidential Initiative “Bring Kids Back UA”, in partnership with the Coordination Center for the Development of Family-Based Care and Education. It is implemented by a consortium: Ukrainian Child Rights Network, CO “SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine”, ICF “Ukrainian Foundation for Public Health”, NGO “League of Social Workers of Ukraine”, CO “Save Ukraine”, CO “Children’s Voices”, with the support of UNICEF and funding from Canada, Norway and the United States.
