The girl was born in occupied Shakhtarsk, so she had only a certificate from an “unrecognized republic,” which made it difficult for them to cross the border.\nThis created serious obstacles to her return. <\/p>\n\n
The Ukrainian Child Rights Network was contacted by our colleague Kateryna Rashevska from the Regional Center for Human Rights, who asked us to help the family get to Ukraine.\nThanks to the joint efforts of the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, the family returned to Ukraine. <\/p>\n\n
The specialists of the Way Home project accompanied the family and helped with the documents.\nToday, in Kyiv, the family was met by Yevhenia’s aunt, who was looking forward to their return. <\/p>\n\n

The return takes place within the framework of Bring Kids Back UA<\/p>\n\n
“The Way Home” is a project aimed at finding and returning children displaced to the Russian Federation or to the non-government controlled areas of Ukraine, as well as reuniting families whose children are without parents during the occupation. The project is implemented by the Ukrainian Child Rights Network in partnership with Save the Children in Ukraine<\/p>\n\n
