{"id":7540,"date":"2024-08-06T14:51:30","date_gmt":"2024-08-06T11:51:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/childrights.org.ua\/news\/umdp-returns-24-year-old-girl-with-disability-from-the-temporarily-occupied-territory\/"},"modified":"2024-09-20T15:27:42","modified_gmt":"2024-09-20T12:27:42","slug":"umdp-returns-24-year-old-girl-with-disability-from-the-temporarily-occupied-territory","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/childrights.org.ua\/en\/news\/umdp-returns-24-year-old-girl-with-disability-from-the-temporarily-occupied-territory\/","title":{"rendered":"UMDP returns 24-year-old girl with disability from the temporarily occupied territory"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Today, 24-year-old Svetlana* was able to hug her mother after a year and a half of separation.\nAll this time she was forced to live in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region. <\/p>\n\n<p>The Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine was approached by the NGO Pluriton with a request to help a girl with a disability leave the occupation.\nThe team of the Ukrainian Child Rights Network together with its partners undertook to organize her return home.   <\/p>\n\n<p>For some time, Svitlana lived with her grandmother in the Donetsk region.\nAfter their city was occupied by Russian troops, there was no way to leave for the territory controlled by Ukraine.\nIn October 2023, her grandmother died.    <br\/>In need of care and support, Svitlana moved in with a neighbor, as her grandmother&#8217;s apartment was occupied by the Russian military.<\/p>\n\n<p>It was urgent to work on the girl&#8217;s return to Ukraine, because in addition to the constant threat to her life in the TOT, Svitlana was going to be placed in a boarding school for people with disabilities in Russia.  <\/p>\n\n<p>In Ukraine, Svitlana&#8217;s mother was waiting for her, and she turned to her for help.\nIt took 28 days from the first application to the moment of family reunification.   <br\/>Each such return requires an individualized approach and the participation of many government agencies.\nWe thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the State Migration Service of Ukraine for their assistance.   <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> \n<iframe title=\"\u041f\u043e\u0432\u0435\u0440\u043d\u0435\u043d\u043d\u044f \u0437 \u043e\u043a\u0443\u043f\u0430\u0446\u0456\u0457 24-\u0440\u0456\u0447\u043d\u043e\u0457 \u0434\u0456\u0432\u0447\u0438\u043d\u0438 \u0437 \u0456\u043d\u0432\u0430\u043b\u0456\u0434\u043d\u0456\u0441\u0442\u044e\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mAfqRCliMpo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n <\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p>The Ukrainian Child Rights Network reminds that there are currently no mechanisms for the return of children and youth with disabilities and serious complex diseases.\nTheir transportation requires special transportation and proper care.\nDue to the multi-day dangerous and exhausting route, it is very difficult to organize logistics.  <\/p>\n\n<p>*The names of the characters have been changed<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":5517,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"inline_featured_image":false,"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_vp_format_video_url":"","_vp_image_focal_point":[]},"news_tag":[112,115,73],"class_list":["post-7540","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","news_tag-deportation","news_tag-return-of-children","news_tag-the-way-home"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.1 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>UMDP returns 24-year-old girl with disability from the temporarily occupied territory<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Today, 24-year-old Svetlana* was able to hug her mother after a year and a half of separation.
