Since 27.06.2019, the Ukrainian Child Rights Network has continued its fruitful cooperation with the UN Children’s Fund UNICEF Ukraine, the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine through the project “Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to monitor the observance of children’s rights in Ukraine – Phase II”.<\/p>\n

As part of the Project, monitoring visits were made to institutions and facilities that take care of children in the system of alternative care and education in 5 new oblasts: Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Khmelnytsky, and Zhytomyr. Kyiv and Odesa oblasts, which showed the worst results in the previous visits, were analyzed again. The purpose of the follow-up visits is to see and make sure that the significant violations in the protection of children’s rights have been eliminated.<\/p>\n

In addition, within the framework of the Project, we have worked on complex cases of violation of children’s rights in the system of alternative care and upbringing of children, analyzed best practices, and conducted a series of training sessions and online webinars for specialized professionals, regional representatives of the Ombudsman’s office, NGOs, psychologists, teachers, and parents.<\/p>\n

The project was implemented jointly with the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and UNICEF Ukraine.<\/p>\n
