NGO “See with the Heart”

The team of the NGO “Seeing with the Heart” implements modern approaches to the socialization of people with disabilities. They believe that the quality of life is more important than the diagnoses in a medical record, which is why they have been creating and implementing projects for the socialization and education of children, adolescents and young people with complex developmental disabilities for 9 years.

Mission: to provide comprehensive, systematic support to people with complex developmental disabilities and their families through educational programs, social support, information campaigns, psychological counseling and support.

Theory of change: by improving the microcosm of one family, we change the attitude towards families with children with complex developmental disabilities, change consumer attitudes. These families become a model for others, ambassadors of the NO DRAMA approach and multipliers of change.

Projects of the organization:

  • School for everyone – is a unique online educational program for adolescents and young people with complex developmental disabilities.
  • Psychological Hub has been operating for 5 years to support families raising children, adolescents and young people with complex developmental disabilities. The Psychological Hub currently employs 10 professional psychologists who provide counseling and psychological support to families.
  • Space camp – is a daytime inclusive camp for children and adolescents with disabilities and complex developmental disorders (when one person has several disorders at the same time: Cerebral palsy, autism, visual impairment, etc.), children with palliative care status, children who were forced to move during the war, and children in foster care and children who lost one or two parents due to the war.
  • Lectureship – support program for specialists. On the social media pages of the NGO “Seeing with the Heart”, they publish announcements of lectures on sexuality education for adolescents and young people with disabilities and many lectures for parents by psychologists, social workers and other specialists.
