Street Child Ukraine (Charity Organization “Street Child Ukraine”)
The Charity Organization “Street Child Ukraine” (Street Child Ukraine) is an international charitable organization working to ensure that every child has access to education and remains safe, even in crisis conditions.
The organization began operations in Ukraine on 25 February 2022, immediately after the start of the full-scale invasion. Since then, Street Child Ukraine has been supporting children and families affected by the war.
What the organization does
Education in wartime
The organization helps restore schools, equips safe learning spaces such as shelters, and develops online education. Teachers receive training and materials to better support children who have experienced trauma.
Child protection
Children receive psychosocial support, and safe spaces for development and rest are created. Special attention is given to children in difficult life circumstances, including children with disabilities.
Support for families and communities
Street Child Ukraine works with local organizations, helping them strengthen their capacity to support children and families in their communities.
Digital learning
Digital learning centers are created where children can study, receive support, and communicate with peers.
Scale of work
- More than 124,000 children reached by programs
- More than 98,000 children received psychosocial support
- Nearly 30,000 adults participated in training programs or received assistance
Approach
Street Child Ukraine believes that the best solutions are created within communities. That is why the organization supports local initiatives and works in partnership with Ukrainian organizations.
The main goal is to help children not only survive crises, but also have the opportunity to develop, learn, and build their future.
