NGO “Dnipro League of Social Workers”

The NGO Dnipro League of Social Workers was founded in 2010 on the initiative of social workers to work throughout the Dnipro region.

Main areas of activity

  • Case management is a comprehensive support and assistance to socially vulnerable families with children.
  • Psychosocial support based on child-friendly spaces: counseling, group classes, and developmental activities for children and parents.
  • The Social Services Development Hub is an educational platform for professional development and exchange of experience.
  • Inclusive environment – helping families raising children with disabilities.

Projects and initiatives

  • 2019-2020 – partnership projects with the Right to Protection CF with the support of NED aimed at strengthening the capacity of employees of social service centers working with IDPs.
  • 2020-2021 – subgrantees of the Ukrainian Child Rights Network with the support of UNICEF: monitoring of the observance of children’s rights in families after the return of children from institutionalized care during quarantine restrictions.
  • 2021-2024 – continuation of cooperation within the project of the Ukrainian Child Rights Network with the support of UNICEF.
  • July 2023 – August 2024 – Phase 1 of the project “Social Initiatives for Families with Children at the Community Level in Dnipro Oblast” with the support of UNICEF. Activities were implemented first in 10 communities, and later in 15.
  • From October 2024 to the present day, Phase 2 of the project “Social Initiatives for Families with Children at the Community Level in the Dnipro Region” has been implemented with the support of UNICEF. The project geography has been expanded to 23 communities.

Priorities of the organization

  • Restoration and development of the social protection sector in Ukraine.
  • Comprehensive support for IDPs and Ukrainians returning from abroad.
  • Creating an inclusive environment in communities.
  • Advocacy for children and social workers.
  • Psychological support for families who have been traumatized by the war, crisis response.
  • Developing a system of day care centers for children with disabilities.
  • Accompanying and supporting the families of military personnel and veterans (case management, reintegration, psychological assistance, support groups).
  • Assistance to the most vulnerable categories of families, including those in situations of child abuse.
  • Development of alternative forms of education.
  • Supporting young people from among orphans and children deprived of parental care.
  • Increasing the capacity of specialists in the field of social services.
  • Development of parental potential.

Achievements of the organization

As of September 2025, the Dnipro League of Social Workers has established an NGO in 23 communities in the frontline Dnipro region:

8 mobile case management teams to visit and support families directly at their place of residence.

24 child-friendly spaces – group activities, trainings and individual consultations for children and parents.

2 Social Services Development Hubs in Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih.

1 Day care center for children with disabilities in Kryvyi Rih.
