Child Dignity Center of the Ukrainian Catholic University
Child Dignity Center UCU of the began its work in January 2021 at the Ukrainian Catholic University. During the course of its activities, the Center’s team realized that it should work with all institutions that have to do with children, including education, medicine, and the church. The format of the work is aimed at helping to form an effective system of prevention of violence against children in these areas.
The organization’s mission is to create a culture where the dignity of the child is an unconditional value. It also promotes the formation of a safe environment and the prevention of violence against minors and vulnerable persons.
Areas of work:
- Medicine – helping doctors of various levels to master the tools for identifying signs of violence in a child or vulnerable adult, knowledge of how to respond and clinically manage such cases.
- Education – training and support in creating a safe environment for minors, so that every school has a system of responsibility for protection from violence.
- Church – through training, formation, and expert support, strengthen the work of church structures responsible for creating a safe environment for children and vulnerable adults.
Work in these areas is carried out through the following activities:
- Training and formation of employees and volunteers.
- Developing security policies for institutions and organizations.
- Implementation of security policies in the life of organizations.
- Scientific research.
