The writing committee included our partner organization – Partnership for Every Child.

The draft law is aimed at improvement of the child rights system in Ukraine, the development of social services to support families with children in vulnerable life circumstances, affected by hostilities or armed conflict.

Adoption of the document will simplify the mechanism of placement in the foster home system of orphans and children deprived of parental care, whose documents were left in the ATO area. The guardianship authority will use the information from database of orphans and children deprived of parental care.

Among other urgent issues to ensure the best interests of the child and to support family, the document refers to the introduction of family patronage at the state level, because it will help to save children from harmful effects of institutionalization.
