The alternative report should become a qualitative addition to the state one

A regular meeting of the working group working on the formation of an alternative report on compliance with the UN Convention on the Child Rights took place today. The meeting was attended not only by representatives of the Ukrainian Child Rights Network but also by members of the coalition of the NGO Children’s Rights in Ukraine.

At the meeting, the experts discussed and consolidated many problematic issues. The final version of the alternative report is already being developed and relevant recommendations are being prepared. The members of the Network hope that their report will be a qualitative addition to the state and, in the future, the system of social protection of children in Ukraine will work clearly and coherently.

“We hope that in the future a strong system of social protection of children will be built. In fact, for this reason we work and count on understanding and fruitful cooperation with representatives of public authorities, “said Svitlana Klochko, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Child Rights Network.

The Alternative Report on Compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is the final stage of a joint project of the Ukrainian Child Rights Network with UNICEF “Ensuring the strengthening of the capacity and influence of non-governmental actors in the development, implementation and monitoring of respect for the rights of the child in the system of alternative care, improvement of policies and strategies for the protection of children”
