NGO “Labour and Health Social Initiatives “

The international non-governmental organization “Social Initiatives for Occupational Safety and Health” (LHSI) was founded in August 2002.
The organization implements technical assistance projects in all regions of Ukraine and cooperates with partners abroad in four main areas:
– social policy
– health and well-being
– protection of civil rights, including the right to decent work
– development of children and youth

Mission.

To promote sustainable human development by expanding access to social services for at-risk groups, addressing health issues, ensuring child protection and youth empowerment, and promoting gender equality for a better future for Ukrainians.

The organization’s activities are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular:

Strategic goals of LHSI 2023-2025

1. Child protection and youth empowerment: Creating and implementing comprehensive programs aimed at protecting children’s rights and empowering young people, promoting their growth and active participation in society.

2. Increased access to health and social services: Increase access to essential health and social services for war-affected communities, including internally displaced persons, affected families and particularly vulnerable children, especially those affected by the war in Ukraine. Adopt and implement international best practices while strengthening the capacity of local stakeholders.

3. Partnerships for economic stability, resilience and gender equality: support socially responsible cooperation between employers, employees, affected communities and government institutions. Improve workplace safety initiatives and programs that promote gender equality by fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment for all, ensuring coherence and economic stability for emotionally affected communities and individuals.

LHSI is a member of the Stop TB Partnership, International Step-by-Step Association (ISSA ) and the Ukrainian Child Rights Network
