NGO “Labour and Health Social Initiatives “

The international non-governmental organization “Social Initiatives for Occupational Safety and Health” (LHSI) was founded in August 2002.
The organization implements technical assistance projects in all regions of Ukraine and cooperates with partners abroad in four main areas:
– social policy
– health and well-being
– protection of civil rights, including the right to decent work
– development of children and youth


Vision: to improve the situation of the most vulnerable populations and children in Ukraine based on their needs and life situation.
Mission: to improve partnerships, support and implementation of social projects in the field of social protection, healthcare and protection of the rights of the most vulnerable populations, including children in Ukraine.


The statutory objectives of LHSI include:
– implementation of educational and scientific projects and programs aimed at changing human behavior and improving public health;
– promoting the development of social programs in the areas of health and labor, retention of labor resources and gender equality;
– facilitating monitoring of social and labor problems of vulnerable groups of the population and protection of their rights;
– promoting the practical implementation of national, regional, local and international projects and programs to prevent tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, drug addiction and other socially dangerous diseases, and promote a healthy lifestyle;
– promoting social initiatives on occupational safety and health, improving people’s lives and health, and solving social problems;
– facilitating the organization of cooperation with youth leaders, representatives of local communities, government agencies, local governments, public and international organizations, establishing cooperation with foreign experts and scientists, promoting interaction and exchange of experience between organizations from different countries and Ukraine’s integration into the European Union;
– introducing programs aimed at the development of children and youth;
– providing social services to people in difficult life circumstances.

LHSI cooperates with a wide range of specialists and experts on child and youth development, child protection, combating online violence against children, protecting labor rights, combating tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and other socially negative phenomena, implementing models for the adaptation of socially disadvantaged groups, and developing social and medical services, introducing a human-centered approach based on human rights. The organization’s activities are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular:
